Does This Sound Familiar?

Around two-thirds of people will experience a traumatic event in their lifetime. Yet many won’t realise it’s still affecting them until years later.

What Is EMDR?

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing. It’s a powerful, evidence-based therapy that helps people heal from trauma, painful memories, and deeply rooted negative beliefs—without needing to retell every detail of what happened.

  • We identify a memory or belief that still triggers a strong emotional or physical response
  • While holding that memory in mind, you follow back-and-forth eye movements, tones, or taps
  • This activates the brain’s natural healing process, helping you detach from the emotional charge and install more adaptive beliefs

For example, a belief like “I’m not safe” might shift toward “I made it through” or “I can protect myself now.”

EMDR is recommended by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Australian Guidelines for PTSD. It’s also effective for anxiety, shame, grief, and low self-worth when those feelings are rooted in past experiences.
You stay in control the entire time. The process is structured, safe, and adapted to your pace.
